Bosworth's MP David Tredinnick and County leader Nick Rushton met today (16th May) at County Hall, to discuss issues raised by residents with their MP and Peter Batty, leader of Hinckley & Bosworth Conservative Group on the borough council.
In a very productive meeting, also attended by Janice Richards CC (Earl Shilton), Ivan Ould CC (Market Bosworth) and Ruth Camamile CC (Mallory), the MP raised residents' concerns over Hinckley town centre improvements and the impact of the Sustainable Urban Extensions proposed for Barwell and Earl Shilton, with the County Council leader.
Nick Rushton said: "I am delighted David Tredinnick came to County Hall along with Peter Batty, to raise these legitimate concerns residents have over traffic improvements in Hinckley, redevelopment of the town centre and the impact upon infrastructure that may be caused by the urban extensions in Barwell and Earl Shilton."
Nick Rushton added: "Where we can help, we will. I have already met with officers and they are aware of these concerns raised. I am confident that we can reach a position that what is proposed in Hinckley is with the support of the majority of stakeholders, residents and the local community."
David Tredinnick said: "I am very grateful Nick took the time to meet with us all at County Hall today to hear directly from residents the issues they have raised with Peter Batty and myself. I am confident the County Council is listening to these concerns and are making plans to accomodate some of them. The important thing to do is we work together to get Hinckley thriving again."
