Both Leader David Parsons and Deputy Leader Nick Rushton were re-elected unopposed at yesterday’s Annual General Meeting of the Conservative Group on LCC.
Tony Gillard (Member for Whitwick) was returned as the Group Chief Whip with outgoing Chairman of the County Council Jackie Dickinson elected as Deputy Chief Whip alongside Bill Liquorish (Member for Broughton Astley).
Peter Lewis (Loughborough South West) was nominated as the Conservative Group’s choice for Chairman of the County Council and Mrs Rosita Page (Lutterworth) as Vice-Chairman for the coming Civic year, 2012/13.
Leader David Parsons will now complete the finishing touches for Cabinet and group appointments to committees and outside bodies, in time for submission to the County Council Annual Meeting on 23rd May 2012.
