Conservatives celebrate “outstanding” Sileby by-election win
Leicestershire County Council Conservatives warmly congratulate Kenneth Jones becoming the new Borough Councillor for Sileby on Charnwood Borough Council.
Chief architect of the successful campaign was Sileby & The Wolds County Councillor Richard Shepherd, who said, “This just goes to show what can happen when you combine good old fashioned campaigning, a good local candidate, hard work and sticking to the issues people care about. Despite the current political climate, this was an outstanding result by anyone’s reckoning.”
The by-election was caused by the death of former Cllr Roy Brown who served Sileby well for many years. The by-election result was as follows:
Kenneth Jones 703 (55.1%)
Lab 450 (35.3%)
BNP 93 (7.3%)
Lib Dem 29 (2.2%)
T/O 23%
