Conservative county councillor, David Parsons, is calling for an end to heavy lorries in Kirby Muxloe.
At present, HGVs can travel along Desford Road as a designated lorry route.
But a massive new development at Crown Crest is threatening to send huge juggernauts along a country road with a right-angled turn at Ratby Lane.
"When planning permission for Crown Crest was given, one of the planning conditions was that no extra lorry traffic should come through Kirby Muxloe, " says Cllr Parsons. "But Crown Crest are now seeking to annul that decision."
A massive campaign is under way in Kirby Muxloe to stop all lorries using the route, which Cllr Parsons is backing.
