Nick Rushton, leader of Leicestershire County Council, visited Melton Mowbray during the morning on Tuesday 26 February 2013 as one of his ongoing Meet the Leader events around the county, where he meets with residents and business owners to hear their concerns.
Nick Rushton said: "I want to be approachable and accountable – I know that, for county council services, the buck stops with me. That’s why I’m keen to find out, face to face, what matters to local people."
Along with local councillors, Byron Rhodes, Leader of Melton Borough Council and Deputy Leader of Leicestershire County Council, and Pam Posnett and Joe Orson, Nick spoke with a number of people and also visited the livestock market and afterwards went to Melton Borough Council offices.
