Nick Rushton announces new Cabinet Team for the new Term

Leicestershire County Council Conservative Group leader Nick Rushton has today announced his new Cabinet team for the new term.

Nick Rushton said, “I have appointed eight members to my new team. This is a reduction of 20% and I’ve merged a couple of departmental responsibilities. We have to make savings in the new administration and this shows we are serious about reducing the cost of democracy.”  

The Conservatives increased their number of seats on the new Council to 36 at the recent County elections and their majority is 17 over the Opposition parties.

Nick Rushton added, “Now that the dust has settled the hard work begins. I said on Election Day that we would govern on behalf of all the residents of Leicestershire, regardless of voting intentions. My new team is ready to hit the ground running and the Group is determined to implement our manifesto commitments, working together for a better Leicestershire.”
