Changes have been made to the council's ruling cabinet, following the death of Ernie White.
Pam Posnett will be taking over the Health and Wellbeing portfolio, after the sad passing of Councillor White in the New Year.
New to the Cabinet is Louise Richardson, county councillor for Enderby and Lubbesthorpe, who is taking over responsibility for Equalities, Communities and Rural Affairs.
Blake Pain will also now lead all of Environment and Transport, including Waste Management, Recycling and Flooding.
Nick Rushton added: “Louise will make an excellent addition to the team. She has impressed me greatly since the election last year and I’m delighted to welcome her on to the Cabinet.
"Ernie was an excellent lead member and is a tough act to follow. Pam has a strong track record as a cabinet member and will bring a great deal to the role.
"It makes sense also to bring back Highways, Transport and Waste management under one roof and one lead member. Blake will continue his sterling work in this department."
