David serves on Leicestershire County Council’s Children and Families Overview and Scrutiny Committee and the Corporate Governance Committee.
He was elected on 1 May 2025 as County Councillor for Market Harborough West & Foxton, succeeding Councillor Phil King.
He was also elected on 18 December 2025 as Harborough District Councillor for Logan Ward. In both roles, he is committed to being a strong voice for residents—challenging poor planning, holding decision-makers to account, and making sure local people are listened to.
David has lived in Market Harborough for four years, having returned to the UK after more than two decades working in New Zealand. Originally from Sussex, he graduated from the University of Essex (1988). Since coming home, he has helped establish a residents’ group, served as a local school governor, and supported community initiatives. He is married to Mandy and is proud to call Market Harborough home with their teenage family—and a much-loved collection of pets brought back from New Zealand.
Professionally, David has held senior executive roles across health, IT and education, delivering transformational change in the UK and internationally. He now works for a global IT company, which gives him the flexibility to serve the community.
A traditional Conservative, David believes in strong local government that delivers value for money, protects frontline services, invests wisely, and keeps council tax as low as possible. He is determined to protect Leicestershire’s heritage and rural character, and to help its communities thrive for generations to come. He is against Leicester City's land-grab as part of local government reform; and is trying hard to stop speculative home building across Harborough's green spaces.
