Rosita has lived in the local area for over 30 years and has 2 grown up daughters who attended local schools.
She has been a District Councillor since 1999 and a County Councillor since 2004 actively representing the villages of Bitteswell, Bittesby, Claybrooke Magna, Claybrooke Parva and Ullesthorpe. Having held many important and influential positions at Harborough District Council she was honoured to be appointed Chairman of Harborough District Council 2010/11.
Rosita has been an active District and County Councillor dealing with many individuals addressing a large variety of ward issues.
Being part of the community Rosita attends the Town Council, the Parish Council meetings, Community Forums and can be found at many tea parties and coffee mornings.
You can also find her supporting the museum, at Youth award ceremonies, High School awards ceremonies, play schools, the carnival, Christmas events, supporting the volunteer sector and members of the community in a variety of endeavours.
Rosita is always available, will listen to the people and will endeavour to represent your needs.
At the County Council her duties include attending Full councils, group meetings and away days as well as a Scrutiny Commissioner, the Scrutiny Commission.
Rosita has attended many briefings, takes part in ongoing training including budget planning, the Big Society and most recently in Equality management .
She learnt about the latest Government changes to the planning system by going on a course at Swansea University in September.
She sits on the LGA representing rural issues and on the RFDC were she has done a great deal of work on raising flooding matters. Rosita has been instrumental in bringing these issues to the forefront to be recognised in daily management and has encouraged the CC to hold a flood fair for all the stakeholders .
This year Rosita considers her greatest achievement to be working with partners to meet our housing development requirements responsibility and being instrumental in trying to secure cemetery provision for the Lutterworth the community.
